Kyle Finnegan Earns 14th Save Of Season Tuesday
1 year agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan picked up his 14th save of the season in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Rockies. Finnegan came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one. He got the first two outs on a strikeout and lineout, allowed a single, and ended the game with a groundout. Both Finnegan and Hunter Harvey (elbow) have split closing duties lately, but Harvey recently went on the injured list with a right elbow sprain, so it appears that Finnegan should see most save opportunities in the near term. Finnegan has only converted two-thirds of his save opportunities this season but does have a respectable 3.16 ERA. As such, he still carries some fantasy value in roto leagues.
