Kyle Bradish Shuts Out Astros
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish was superb on Thursday as he shut down the Astros bats over 8 2/3 IP during his club's 2-0 victory. He allowed just two hits and struck out 10 batters without issuing a walk in the 100-pitch performance, falling just one out shy of the complete game. He retired the first 17 batters he faced on the night before a single broke up his no-hit bid in the sixth, and then he never allowed another base runner until Jeremy Pena singled with two outs in the ninth to chase him from the game. Bradish has dropped his ERA nearly a full run since the end of August to 4.65 to go along with a 1.35 WHIP through 110 1/3 IP so far in his rookie campaign. He's looking like a terrific late-season addition as managers will want to start him with confidence next week versus the Red Sox.
