Kyle Allen Tendered As Exclusive-Rights Free Agent
4 years agoThe Washington Football team tendered quarterback Kyle Allen as an exclusive-rights free agent on Wednesday. Allen completed 69 percent of his passes for 610 yards and four touchdowns in four starts for the team last season, but a dislocated ankle ended his 2020 campaign. He will return for the 2021 season alongside Taylor Heinicke and Steven Montez. The 25-year-old Allen needed surgery on his ankle and is expected to be fully recovered by April. Dwayne Haskins Jr. and veteran Alex Smith are now out of the picture in D.C., which could give Allen the leg up for the starting job under center if he's healthy this summer. However, Heinicke also impressed during a playoff start and Allen won't have much fantasy upside as a QB2 if he's the starter.
