Kurt Suzuki Blasts Home Run Monday
6 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run on Monday in a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Suzuki's shot came off starter Vince Velasquez and it was his first of the season. The veteran backstop has been splitting time with Yan Gomes so far this season, but Suzuki has been the better of the two thus far. He is hitting .267 with a home run and five RBI. However, he has yet to strike out. Suzuki could be worth a speculative add considering the scarcity of the catcher position, or if Gomes were to suffer an injury.
