Kurt Kitayama In Search Of Consistency At Valero Texas Open
8 hours agoKurt Kitayama has not been in ideal form to start the year, missing the cut in four of his nine starts and recording no finishes higher than T33. He looks to turn things around at the Valero Texas Open, an event he has yet to play in his PGA career. To succeed here, players will need to be accurate on approach and proficient from tee to green. Kitayama ranks 112th in strokes gained on approach (minus-0.119 per round), but 51st from tee to green (0.431 gained per round). He is also 123rd in greens in regulation and ranks in just the 18th percentile for greens in regulation from 200-plus yards, a range that accounted for 28.7% of all approach shots here last year. At a price tag of $7,600 on DraftKings, fantasy managers may want to avoid Kitayama until he can string together more consistent finishes.
