6 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Kurt Benkert did not have a very good night in the final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins Thursday. Benkert got the start and played well into the second half. However, he only managed to complete 10 of his 25 passes for 103 yards. In addition, Benkert was picked off twice and sacked three times. This game ends a relatively unsuccessful preseason for Benkert, who would have been hoping to put pressure on Matt Schaub for the backup QB role. At best, Benkert might scrape onto the Falcons roster as the third QB but he is more likely going to find himself on the practice squad.--Ben Rolfe
