Boston Red Sox second base prospect Kristian Campbell is not expected to join the major league roster when the rosters expand over the weekend according to Christopher Smith. The 22-year-old has progressed through the minor leagues incredibly this season. He opened the summer by getting his first extended look at High-A and needed just 40 games to move up to Double-A. Through 56 games at Double-A Portland, the Georgia Tech product posted a stellar .362/.463/.582 line. Campbell then got the call to Triple-A Worcester, where he currently carries a .303/.410/.606 line through his first eight games. Campbell remains one of the top prospects in the Boston system and should spend most of next summer in the major leagues, given his current pace.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox infielder/outfielder Kristian Campbell (ribs) remains out of the starting lineup on Saturday when they continue a series against the Minnesota Twins. The top prospect has been day-to-day with rib discomfort over his previous three contests. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Sunday's contest. If he is unable to make progress, the Red Sox could eventually shift him to the injured list. Through his first 29 games at the MLB level, the Georgia Tech product has been very productive, posting a .301/.407/.495 slash line with four home runs and two stolen bases. This afternoon, David Hamilton will get another start at the keystone. Hamilton is best to fade in DFS this afternoon, facing Minnesota right-hander Bailey Ober.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox rookie second baseman Kristian Campbell (ribs) remains out of the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the visiting Minnesota Twins at Fenway Park. Campbell was scratched from Thursday's series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays as a precaution with sore ribs, and now he'll miss his second straight game. The good news is that the 22-year-old infielder's injury isn't considered serious, and he's being deemed day-to-day heading into the weekend. The former fourth-rounder in 2023 out of the Georgia Institute of Technology has settled in nicely as the team's starting second baseman in his first 103 big-league at-bats, batting .301 with four homers, 12 RBI, 18 runs and two stolen bases. David Hamilton will once again start at second and bat eighth on Friday against Twins right-hander Joe Ryan. He represents a low-upside DFS sleeper at the bottom of the lineup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox second base/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell (ribs) is viewed as day-to-day heading into their weekend series against the Minnesota Twins. The budding star was stretched from Thursday's lineup due to rib soreness. However, this injury does not appear serious, and the Georgia Tech product could return to the starting nine as early as Friday evening. Campbell was able to break camp with the MLB roster and has enjoyed an impressive start to his MLB career, holding a .301/.407/.495 slash line with four long balls and two stolen bases. Under the hood, Campbell has generated a strong .364 xwOBA while drawing walks at an elite 15.4 percent rate. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Friday's game. If he were to sit out, David Hamilton should see opportunities at the keystone.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox rookie second baseman Kristian Campbell (rib) has been scratched from Thursday's starting lineup against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays with right-rib discomfort, according to MassLive's Christopher Smith. David Hamilton will take over at the keystone and will hit eighth against Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios. For now, fantasy managers should consider Campbell day-to-day and check back to see if he's available to play in Friday's series opener against the Minnesota Twins at Fenway Park. The 22-year-old former fourth-rounder has held his own in his first MLB season to this point, hitting .301 (31-for-103) with four home runs, 12 RBI, 18 runs and two stolen bases. Hamilton offers limited DFS upside and has gone just 2-for-30 this year with a homer, two RBI and two steals. He has hit .143 in just seven career at-bats against Berrios.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
