Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis (back) is likely to make his return to action Saturday vs. the Clippers, head coach Wes Unseld Jr. announced Friday. Porzingis missed his second outing of the year Wednesday due to lower back tightness, which allowed Taj Gibson to shift into the starting five and Daniel Gafford to see added frontcourt run; with the big man back, both Gibson and Gafford slot into undesirable fantasy roles. Porzingis is amidst a scorching offensive stretch that has seen him drop at least 20 points in nine consecutive games, averaging 27.1 points while shooting 53.8 percent in that span. He dominated the LA interior as recently as last week to the tune of a 30-point, 15-rebound performance.--Jesse Borek

2 weeks agoBoston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) won't suit up for Wednesday's clash with the Magic. He had a team-high 34 points in Tuesday's overtime win over the New York Knicks. But with Boston having already secured the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference, Porzingis will get the night off. Al Horford (knee) also won't play, meaning Luke Kornet may get the start, with the 29-year-old averaging 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 14 starts this season. Xavier Tillman Sr. may also see extended minutes, considering Jayson Tatum (ankle) also won't be on the floor.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBoston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's clash with the Knicks, his former team. The 29-year-old has battled an illness for a large portion of the 2024-25 campaign. However, it most recently kept him off the floor for Sunday's blowout win over the Washington Wizards. Luke Kornet got the start, finishing with 13 points and 14 rebounds. With Al Horford (knee) already ruled out, Kornet should get more minutes than usual. However, Kornet's fantasy ceiling will increase even more if Porzingis can't suit up.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoAccording to Zack Cox of the Boston Herald, Boston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) has been ruled for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. A mysterious illness caused Porzingis to miss a couple of weeks at the beginning of last month, and he is still coping with its effects, which led him to miss another game Wednesday night. Al Horford (toe) is also out for the contest, so Luke Kornet will have a hectic night in the frontcourt. Neemias Queta and Xavier Tillman Sr. will likely provide cover at center.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoBoston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) has been tagged as questionable on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. A mysterious illness caused Porzingis to miss a couple of weeks at the beginning of last month, and he is still coping with its effects, possibly leading him to miss another game Wednesday night. Al Horford (toe) is also iffy for the contest, so Luke Kornet may have an extremely busy night in the frontcourt. Neemias Queta and Xavier Tillman Sr. would provide cover at the five.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
