Kole Calhoun To Take Batting Practice Sunday
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun will take batting practice on Sunday for the first time. Calhoun had surgery earlier this month to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, which is expected to sideline him for Opening Day. The 33-year-old batted just .226 but clubbed 16 homers in 54 games for Arizona in the shortened 2020 season. Calhoun has increased his barrel rate in each of the last three seasons while subsequently making gains on his launch angle. He could have added value in roto leagues that utilize OBP given his career 9.8 percent walk rate. Calhoun is a sneaky late-round source of power at his 287 ADP, though keep in mind that he'll be starting the year on the injured list.
