Kole Calhoun Could Return For Arizona's Home Opener
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun (knee) could be back in the lineup by the Diamondbacks' home opener on April 9, according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic. Calhoun has been out since the beginning of Spring Training after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee, and now Buchanan reports that he will be hitting against live pitching soon. Last year, Calhoun posted a career-high .526 slugging percentage while hitting 16 home runs in 57 games. He also posted a career-high 12.3 percent walk rate, as his .338 on-base percentage was his best mark since 2016. At his current ADP of 329, managers should look at targeting Calhoun at the end of drafts and stash him on the IL.
