Kole Calhoun Activated From IL, Starting Saturday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun (hamstring) was activated from the 60-day injured list on Saturday, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Calhoun will get the start in right field on Saturday and is batting fifth against Walker Buehler and the Dodgers. He has appeared in only 13 games this season, as he opened the year on the IL after undergoing knee surgery at the beginning of Spring Training, and then at the end of May he underwent another surgery to remove "a damaged left semitendinosus tendon." When healthy he put up some solid numbers, slashing .292/.353/.479 with two home runs, one steal, five RBI and six runs scored this year. Managers in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats should consider taking a look at him as a guy who could help boost a fantasy offense in the second half of the season.
