Kolby Allard Throws Two Clean Innings
5 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Kolby Allard threw two innings and gave up one hit against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. It was an encouraging performance for Allard, who is the pitcher most likely to be called up from the minors if any of the Rangers' starting five go down during the season. The 2015 first-round pick was acquired by Texas at the trade deadline for Chris Martin last season and made nine starts in August and September for his new team. He struck out 33 batters in 45.1 innings in 2019 and will need to work on his 9.1 percent walk rate if he is to get on the radar for 12-team mixed leagues.
