Kohl Stewart Allows Eight Hits In Loss On Sunday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kohl Stewart took a loss in his first start of the season on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers. The youngster allowed three runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. He also walked and struck out one hitter. While those numbers may look uninspiring, Stewart actually held the Tigers scoreless up until the fifth inning, when they broke the game open. The Twins offense couldn't save his outing either, as they mustered just one run against Detroit starter Matt Boyd. Nonetheless, Stewart — who was called up to fill the rotation spot left open by Adalberto Mejia (wrist) — will probably continue to get his opportunities as long as there's space for him. For fantasy purposes though, his value is held in deeper, American League-only leagues for now.
