Kodai Senga Tosses Five Shutout Innings In Monday's Win
5 days agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Kodai Senga earned his first win of the season in Monday's 2-0 win over the Marlins. Senga pitched five scoreless innings, allowing five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. The 32-year-old has looked strong and healthy through two starts this season after being plagued by injury in 2024 and is now 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA, 12 strikeouts, and three walks in 10 IP. Strikeouts have always been part of Senga's game, but so have walks, so his low count through his first two starts is encouraging. Senga should have a good chance to string together a third consecutive solid outing in his next scheduled matchup at the struggling Braves.
