Kodai Senga Looking To Keep Strong Stretch Going Thursday
1 year agoNew York Mets pitcher Kodai Senga will look to keep the good times rolling on Thursday when he gets the ball for a home start against the Washington Nationals. The rookie right-hander has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five straight starts and in six of his last seven, although he did surrender two earned runs in just 3 1/3 innings before a rain delay cut his last start against the Red Sox short. Nonetheless, the right-hander has been racking up a plethora of strikeouts, punching out 46 batters over his last six starts spanning 34 1/3 innings of work, elevating him to a healthy 29.7% K% alongside his 3.27 ERA across 18 starts. He will face a Nationals offense that is tied for 22nd with a .304 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.
