Klay Thompson Struggles Shooting
7 years agoGolden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson didn't have his best outing this season Thursday night against the Indiana Pacers. Thompson scored 16 points, shooting 6-for-16 from the floor, with four of those made buckets coming from long range. Thompson also had seven boards. In the last four games including Thursday's, Thompson has averaged 21 points, 3.75 rebounds and 1.75 steals per contest. The next matchup for the Warriors and Thompson is the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. The Pelicans give up the second most points per game in the league, so Thompson should have a very good outing.

Klay Thompson Will Not Play On Thursday
2 months agoDallas Mavericks guard/forward Klay Thompson (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Miami Heat after being downgraded from questionable to out. Thompson logged 34 minutes on Wednesday in a special matchup against his former team, the Golden State Warriors, and the Mavericks will manage his workload by giving the veteran the night off against Miami. Kyrie Irving (shoulder) has also been ruled out, which means the Mavericks will enter Thursday's contest without any of their regular starters. Naji Marshall, Dante Exum, Max Christie, and Spencer Dinwiddie could all emerge as key players instead of the usual suspects.

Klay Thompson Is Questionable On Thursday
2 months agoDallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson (foot) played 34 minutes against his former team on Wednesday night, but he is listed as questionable on Thursday against Miami for the second half of the Mavericks' back-to-back set of games before the All-Star break. Thompson had 17 points, seven assists, two rebounds, two blocks, and a steal in the win and has been a solid recent contributor for the Mavericks, who are dealing with multiple injuries in their frontcourt. Thompson is joined by Kyrie Irving (shoulder) as questionable on the injury report, and if Kyrie is out but Klay plays, he could have a heavy workload. If both starters are sidelined, the rest of the depth chart will be especially busy, opening huge fantasy opportunities for Spencer Dinwiddie, Max Christie, and Naji Marshall.

Klay Thompson Returning On Saturday
2 months agoDallas Mavericks guard/forward Klay Thompson (ankle) will play on Saturday against Boston. The former Golden State Warrior missed the last two games because of a sprained left ankle. Fortunately, he's good to go for the NBA Finals rematch. Thompson has had one of the worst seasons of his career, averaging 13.6 points. He could have trouble turning things around on Saturday, considering the Celtics have allowed just 108.4 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the National Basketball Association. Still, Thompson is worthy of a spot in most fantasy lineups, especially with Luka Doncic (calf) on the shelf. His presence will likely result in Quentin Grimes heading back to the bench,

Klay Thompson Questionable Against Boston
2 months agoDallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's NBA Finals rematch with the Celtics. Thompson has missed the last two games because of a sprained ankle. But he's not the only Maverick on the injury report, with Dereck Lively II (ankle), Naji Marshall (illness), Dwight Powell (hip), and Luka Doncic (calf) all sidelined. In addition, Jaden Hardy (ankle) is questionable. If Thompson remains on the shelf against Boston, Quentin Grimes, averaging 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 12 starts during the 2024-25 campaign, will likely continue to fill his spot in the rotation.
