Kirk Cousins Throws For 284 Yards In Week 5 Loss
1 year agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins bounced back after his worst season performance in Week 4, completing 29-of-47 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-20 loss against the Chiefs. Cousins did not commit a turnover against the Chiefs after throwing two interceptions in the Week 4 win over Carolina. Five games into the season, Cousins has attempted 40 passes in a game four times and completed 30 passes three times. The game script was ideal for Cousins, as the Vikings spent most of the game playing from behind and were forced into early and frequent passing situations. He has been a consistently reliable starting option every week, and the passing volume of the Vikings bodes well for the rest of his season. The veteran could be without his top offensive weapon, Justin Jefferson (hamstring). Despite possibly not having Jefferson, Cousins has an excellent opportunity to maintain his output in the upcoming matchup against the Bears, who allow the most passing yards in the NFL.
