Khris Davis Out of Lineup on Friday
4 years agoOakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis (rest) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners. The 32-year-old will sit for the second consecutive game after getting off to a very slow start at the plate in four games. Davis has gone 0-for-15 at the plate, in addition to seven strikeouts through the early part of the season. With Davis out of the lineup, Mark Canha will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth against right-hander Taijuan Walker. Canha has been productive with five RBI and a .294 batting average to make him a starting option in deeper formats, while it is still too early to drop Davis after the power-hitter recorded three straight 40+ home run, 100+ RBI total seasons prior to 2019.
