Khalil Herbert Continues To Deliver In Backup Role
2 years agoChicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert totaled 87 all-purpose yards with one touchdown in the Bears 33-14 win over the Patriots on Monday Night Football. Herbert may be the team's current RB2 but he is, by far, the more explosive back. He gashed the Patriots for 62 yards with only 12 carries and took a bubble-screen pass from Justin Fields to the house for a 25-yard touchdown. Starter David Montgomery is a spiritual leader in the Bears offensive pecking order but it is getting harder to ignore Herbert's game-breaking abilities. Even as an RB2 in a bad offense, Herbert is possibly worth a play next week in deeper formats.
