Kevin Plawecki Stays Hot on Monday
6 years agoNew York Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki kept his hot streak going on Monday against the Chicago Cubs when he went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Plawecki launched his home run in the seventh inning off reliever Steve Cishek, who has been lights out all season. It was Plawecki's fifth long ball of the season. In his last three games, Plawecki is 5-for-9. More telling, however, is the fact that the backstop has raised his batting average from .216 on August 12 to a respectable .243. He is a player to keep an eye on the rest of the season in case you are desperate for production at the catcher position.
