Kevin Kisner Is a Solid Option in Memphis at a Reasonable Price
3 years agoKevin Kisner will probably not contend to win this tournament, but I do not think he will finish towards the bottom of the field either. The University of Georgia product has some decent finishes at TPC Southwind, with three top-30 finishes in four starts here. While he is close to the very bottom of the field in many of the ball-striking categories, his irons may have turned a corner. We don't have strokes gained data from his 73rd-place finish at the Open Championship, but prior to that, he gained on approach at both the Rocket Mortgage and the Travelers Championship. On a longer course, Kisner might be outmatched, but he should be able to work his way around TPC Southwind and finish in the top-30. That would be an acceptable result given his price tag.
