Kevin Kiermaier Returns And Scores Lone Rays Run
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier returned from his bruised foot Wednesday versus Chicago. He would go 1-for-3 with a walk and scored the only run Tampa Bay would score in their 2-1 loss. While the run scored is more fantasy relevant, perhaps the biggest takeaway is that he played the whole game. His 2018 numbers look bad but his track record tells another story. Kiermaier has either tied or set a career high in home runs in each of his past four seasons. He has stolen 16 to 21 bases the past three seasons. He even set a career-best .276 batting average in 2017. He has missed a lot of games the past two seasons, but if he can stay healthy and start the vast majority of the Rays games, he could set career highs in multiple categories and break into a higher tier of fantasy outfielders.
