Kevin Kiermaier Is Not Ok Yet Again
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier left the game Sunday versus Philadelphia early after injuring his thumb. He tried to get into second base on a play and caught the thumb causing injury. He will have an MRI Monday but it sounds like some believe it will be a significant amount of time he will miss. His 2018 numbers looked bad but his track record suggested another story. Kiermaier has either tied or set a career high in home runs in each of his past four seasons. He has stolen 16 to 21 bases the past three seasons. He even set a career-best .276 batting average in 2017. He has missed a lot of games the past two seasons, but if he could stay healthy and start the vast majority of the Rays games, he could set career highs in multiple categories and break into a higher tier of fantasy outfielders. Do not rush to drop him outside of very shallow leagues until you find out how long he is supposed to miss.
