Kevin Harvick Scores A Top-Five At Texas
4 years agoStewart-Haas Racing's Kevin Harvick finished fifth in Sunday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Harvick started from the same position and quickly jumped to the lead, passing his teammate, Aric Almirola. Harvick was out in front for a total of 40 laps, and had a car capable of winning, but suffered some damage at the beginning of the third stage. Harvick was slightly involved in the massive pile-up that started when Ryan Blaney had to gather his car off of turn four. Similar to last week, Harvick caught a late caution just before his final pit stop. He had just taken the lead from Joey Logano and was set up to win his fifth race of the season. In the end, alternate strategies by others lost him track position, but Harvick collected his 11th top-five finish in 18 races.
