Stewart-Haas Racing's Kevin Harvick won Sunday night's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway for his eighth win of the 2020 Cup Series season. The win was Harvick's third career win at Darlington, and his second this year. This time, Harvick did not have the best car, struggling early in the race to even stay in the top-10. The No. 4 team employed a short-pit strategy, around the halfway mark, and caught a timely caution to gain track position. Harvick stayed around the front after that but looked like he was going to end up third. With a dozen laps to go, leaders Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. got together and opened up the door for Harvick to score his second Southern 500 victory. Harvick finished the night leading 32 laps, and the win locks him into the Round of 12.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
