Kevin Ginkel Dealing With Elbow Soreness
9 months agoArizona Diamondbacks reliever Kevin Ginkel is dealing with right elbow soreness and will be slow played a bit during camp. The right-hander enjoyed an excellent 2023 season that saw him work to a 2.48 ERA across 60 appearances, locking down four saves and eight holds in the process. It was the second straight quality season for the 29-year-old after he worked to a 3.38 ERA in the 2022 campaign, albeit in just 30 appearances. The D-backs acquired closer Paul Sewald from the Mariners prior to the trade deadline last season, meaning Ginkel won't be in line for a ton of save opportunities in 2024, although he did post a 27.6% K% last season. He should get his fair share of holds but his fantasy value doesn't warrant an investment on draft day.
