Kevin Gausman 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Was Last Season A One-Off Or The New Normal For Him?
5 days agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman had a productive 2024 season. However, it was not up to the almighty standards he had set for himself over the previous years. From 2020-2023, he posted a 3.15 ERA, a 2.82 FIP, a 1.15 WHIP, and a 29.8 K% across 611 1/3 innings. However, Gausman owned a 3.83 ERA, 3.77 FIP, 1.22 WHIP, and a 21.4 K% across 181 frames in 2024. His K% dipped nearly 10 points from 31.1% in 2023 to 21.4% last year. Again, these numbers were not bad but compared to his past seasons, where he was one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. They are a tad underwhelming. With all that said, Gausman has been a consistently solid pitcher for the better part of a decade now, and even though his swing-and-miss and strikeouts are down, he still has plenty more left in the tank and provides enough in all other areas. His value has decreased from a couple of years ago, but he should still be a very serviceable fantasy baseball option. His current NFBC ADP is 159.70, which makes him a value at his 125 overall ranking by RotoBaller. Steamer projects Gausman with a 3.88 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 17.1K% across 196 innings in 2025.
