4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Kevin Cron was recalled by the team and he will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Cron appeared in two games for the team early in the season, going 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts, before being sent to the team's alternate site. Cron hit a remarkable 39 home runs in just 84 minor league games in 2019, posting a ridiculous OPS of 1.223. However, he struggled a bit in his limited at-bats in the majors last year, slashing .211/.269/.521 with six home runs and 28 strikeouts over 78 plate appearances.
