Ketel Marte Out Of Lineup Tuesday For First Time In 2020
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte was not a part of the starting nine Tuesday for the first time this season. Eduardo Escobar shifts over to second base against A’s right-hander Frankie Montas on Tuesday, with Marte getting a regular day of rest. While the MVP candidate has delivered a .330 average across his first 23 games, his extra-base power has dwindled, having posted just a .426 SLG in that span. Despite that, his 12.3 average launch angle would set a new career best, so owners can hold heart heading into Wednesday’s contest against Oakland left-hander Jesus Luzardo that Marte’s home run swing may be coming around.
