Ketel Marte Out Of Lineup Again On Sunday
4 months agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (back) is out of the starting nine on Sunday as the Diamondbacks wrap up a three-game set against the San Diego Padres. Marte was absent from Saturday's lineup as well after being removed early from Friday's game with lower back tightness. 30-year-old Kevin Newman will once again start at the keystone and bat in the nine-hole. Prior to the injury, Marte was riding a stellar .284/.353/.506 slash line with 17 long balls, 51 RBI, and four stolen bases. He holds a 93.4 mph average exit velocity and 53.7% hard-hit rate, which are some of the best marks in baseball. Newman could be a sneaky play in the DFS this afternoon as he will face San Diego right-hander Dylan Cease, who has posted an 8.05 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in his previous four starts.
