Ketel Marte Likely To Land On The Injured List
20 seconds agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) is likely headed to the injured list after straining his left hamstring while rounding the bases in Friday's 6-4 win over the Washington Nationals. The 31-year-old strained his hamstring in the first inning after hitting what would have been an easy triple off right-hander Jake Irvin. Marte eventually limped off the field and probably will need to miss more than the next 10 days as he rehabs his injured hamstring. Garrett Hampson replaced Marte as a pinch-runner and at second base and should see most of the playing time at the keystone moving forward with Marte on the shelf. It's a tough break for Arizona to lose one of their best all-around players after just signing him to a six-year, $116 million extension this week. Keep Marte stashed in all fantasy leagues.
