Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (ankle) will take a seat in Sunday's series finale. Marte missed three games earlier this week due to an ankle injury and but returned to the lineup on Saturday. However, the Diamondbacks will exercise caution with their star infielder and give him a day off on Sunday. As a result, Kevin Newman will cover the keystone and bat in the nine-hole. Marte has enjoyed a fantastic season and is near the top of the NL MVP odds with a .298/.370/.560 line with 30 long balls and six swiped bags. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the Arizona starting nine as Marte could be given the occasional rest day as he battles the lingering injury. Newman is worth a look as a value play in DFS on Sunday as the Rays will use the bullpen with southpaw Tyler Alexander slated to serve as the bulk option.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte is getting the day off in Wednesday's series finale against the visiting New York Mets. Rookie Tim Tawa will make the start at second base and bat eighth against Mets right-hander Kodai Senga. Marte has struggled since returning from a left-hamstring strain that kept him out for almost a full month, as he's gone just 2-for-15 with a run scored in six games since being activated from the injured list. The recent cold stretch has brought the 31-year-old Dominican's slash line down to .268/.388/.341 on the year. Marte has yet to go deep after clubbing a career-high 36 long balls a season ago. Tawa hasn't been great in his first 21 big-league games, hitting 190 (12-for-63), but he's displayed some pop with five home runs and 11 RBI in 75 plate appearances. He is hitless in just one career at-bat against Senga.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Friday, and outfielder Jorge Barrosa was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday in a corresponding move. Arizona's starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the hosting Philadelphia Phillies isn't out yet, but fantasy managers should expect Marte to be back in there against left-hander Jesus Luzardo. The 31-year-old All-Star is finally back with the Snakes since landing on the IL on April 15 with a left-hamstring strain. Although the matchup isn't a great one against Luzardo, fantasy managers will want to get Marte back in their lineups in all redraft leagues. Before landing on the shelf, the Dominican switch-hitter had yet to homer in 26 at-bats, but he was hitting .346 with a .469 on-base percentage and .930 OPS.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) took five at-bats and played four innings in the field at second base on Monday, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Marte took the day off on Tuesday and is scheduled to build up to six or seven innings defensively on Wednesday, and he's still likely to come off the injured list this weekend. The 31-year-old All-Star has been on the injured list with a strained left hamstring since April 5 but figures to return to the team's starting lineup this weekend on the road for a series against the Philadelphia Phillies. When he returns, fantasy managers will be stoked to get him right back in their starting lineups. Before his hamstring injury, Marte had picked right up where he left off a year ago, slashing .346/.469/.462 in 26 at-bats, although he's still searching for his first home run of 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) was packing in the clubhouse on Sunday and confirmed that he will play in Philadelphia, according to Jack Sommers of SI.com. Arizona is expected to make the trip to Philly for three games starting on Friday, May 2. Marte has been sidelined since April 5 with a hamstring strain after only playing in eight games in 2025. He'll look to reclaim his title as the best fantasy second baseman after he had a breakout 2024 to the tune of a .292/.372/.560 slash line with 36 home runs.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBaller
