Ketel Marte Getting A Breather On Thursday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ketel Marte is getting the day off on Thursday as the team faces Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies. Daulton Varsho is getting the start in center field and batting fifth in the game. Marte has struggled a bit since returning from the injured list on August 1. Over 15 games this month, he's slashed .267/.323/.433 with just one home run. He's been making a lot of good contact this year so far as his 49.4% hard-hit rate is a career-best clip. During his breakout 2019 season, his hard-hit rate was only 40%. He also has a remarkable xBA of .320 this year, which supports his strong season-long batting average of .338. He should give fantasy managers a big boost in batting average throughout the rest of the year while adding a good amount of power as well.
