Ketel Marte Finishes Triple Short Of Cycle In Opening Day Loss
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ketel Marte went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, one RBI and two runs scored in an 8-7 loss to the Padres. Marte got a hit in each of his first four plate appearances before striking out in his last at-bat in the eighth inning. His numbers took a dip last year after finishing fourth in the NL MVP race in 2019, as he hit .287 with a .732 OPS in 45 games. Coming off a good spring showing in which he slashed .341/.449/.732 with three home runs and a 7:7 K:BB ratio, Marte looks like he's primed to have a big year in 2021.
