Ketel Marte Dealing With Strained Hamstring
24 seconds agoUpdating a previous report, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced that All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) was removed from Friday's 6-4 win over the hosting Washington Nationals with a left-hamstring strain. Marte hit what should have been an easy triple in the first inning off right-hander Jake Irvin but strained his hammy rounding the bases and settled for a double before limping off the field and being replaced by Garrett Hampson. The 31-year-old, who just signed a six-year, $116 million deal with the D-backs the other day, looked to be in quite a bit of pain, so fantasy managers may want to prepare for a potential trip to the injured list. If that comes to fruition, Hampson would most likely be in line for most of the playing time at the keystone for the Snakes. Marte has been one of the most productive second baseman in recent seasons, so he should be stashed in all fantasy leagues if he goes on the IL.
