Keston Hiura Breaks Out Of Slump With Three Hits Saturday
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Keston Hiura broke out of his slump with a season-high three hits on Saturday, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 4-3 win over the Cubs. Hiura had entered Saturday hitting 2-for-23 with 10 strikeouts over his previous nine games, and he had just one multi-hit performance coming on April 10. Unfortunately for managers, while Hiura has been somewhat unlucky at the plate according to Statcast, it's not been by a lot as he sports a .204 xBA and .369 xSLG this year. Hopefully his performance Saturday will be the start of his bounce back, but until then managers may want to have him ride the bench until he improves at the plate.
