Kerryon Johnson Hits Century Mark Against Patriots
6 years agoDetroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson became the first Lions player to rush for 100 yards or more in a game since 2013. The rookie tallied 101 yards on 16 carries and also hauled in two of three targets for nine yards. Despite not scoring, this was Johnson's biggest workload of the season so far and he made it count, averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He evenly split time with LeGarrette Blount, who also had 16 carries, but only for 48 yards. Sunday's performance solidifies what everyone knew, that Johnson is the best back in Detroit. However, the Lions clearly value what Blount brings to the table, so expect a timeshare to continue as the season rolls on. Next week, the Lions face a Cowboys defense that allowed Chris Carson to rush for 102 yards and a touchdown in Week 3.
