Kerryon Johnson A Candidate For Return Duties
6 years agoDetroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson is being strongly considered to be the team’s main return man. Johnson is also expected to be a big part of the Lions offense. However, his role on special teams could develop if incumbent returners Jamal Agnew and Ameer Abdullah are unable to produce. While Agnew was an All-Pro returner last season, Lions special teams coordinator Joe Marciano noted about Johnson, “He’s got really good vision, good instincts.” Combine Johnson’s potential role on offense with the possibility of adding return duties, and his weekly value gets a slight bump. His big-play ability makes a kick or punt return touchdown an absolute possibility. Week 1 should be a good test of his true role in the offense, so for now he is a dart throw in your flex spot.
