Kerry Carpenter Sitting Out Of Series Finale Against Padres
30 seconds agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter is sitting out of Wednesday's series finale against the visiting San Diego Padres. Carpenter missed the first game of the series on Monday due to a minor hamstring injury, but he returned in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to go 0-for-4. With a scheduled day off on Thursday, fantasy managers should expect Carpenter to return to the starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Detroit against the Baltimore Orioles. His 0-for-4 performance on Tuesday dropped his season average just under .300, and he's been very productive for fantasy managers with five home runs, three doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in his 23 games played early on. Justyn-Henry Malloy is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff on Wednesday against Padres left-hander Kyle Hart. Malloy is only hitting .182 (8-for-44) with no homers this year, but there's some deep-sleeper appeal here in DFS.
