Kerry Carpenter Not Playing The Field Yet On His Rehab Assignment
Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) has played in seven games with Triple-A Toledo as he rehabs from a sprained right shoulder. However, the slugger has yet to play the field and will need to do so before he can return to action in the big leagues. Still, Carpenter began throwing to bases on Tuesday, and there's a chance the club will reinstate him from the injured list in mid-June. The Tigers will be excited to have the 25-year-old back in their lineup, as he was slashing .217/.280/.464 with four home runs, eight runs, and eight RBI across 20 contests and posted a .795 OPS over 31 games in 2022. Carpenter's fantasy value is a bit limited due to a career 28.7% strikeout rate, but he has 25-home run potential in his bat.

Kerry Carpenter Sitting Out Of Series Finale Against Padres
Kerry Carpenter is sitting out of Wednesday's series finale against the visiting San Diego Padres. Carpenter missed the first game of the series on Monday due to a minor hamstring injury, but he returned in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to go 0-for-4. With a scheduled day off on Thursday, fantasy managers should expect Carpenter to return to the starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Detroit against the Baltimore Orioles. His 0-for-4 performance on Tuesday dropped his season average just under .300, and he's been very productive for fantasy managers with five home runs, three doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in his 23 games played early on. Justyn-Henry Malloy is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff on Wednesday against Padres left-hander Kyle Hart. Malloy is only hitting .182 (8-for-44) with no homers this year, but there's some deep-sleeper appeal here in DFS.

Kerry Carpenter Back In Detroit's Lineup
Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday for Game 2 of their series against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park. Carpenter is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta. The 27-year-old Carpenter was pulled from Sunday's game with right-hamstring soreness and was also held out of Monday's win over the Padres, but he's back in there now, and fantasy managers should return him to their starting lineups. He has never faced Pivetta in his career, but he's been producing regularly for his fantasy managers in the early portion of the 2025 season, slashing .315/.338/.562 with an .899 OPS, five home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 73 at-bats. Carpenter will bring a modest five-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest against SD.

Kerry Carpenter Out On Monday, Not Going On Injured List
Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park, but for now, he will not be placed on the 10-day injured list, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky. Carpenter is currently being considered day-to-day with right-hamstring soreness, but if he's not able to return action by this weekend's series against the Baltimore Orioles, he could be a candidate to land on the IL. With the 27-year-old out on Monday, Zack McKinstry is starting in right field and batting second against Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez. Carpenter is an everyday player for Detroit when he's healthy and has been a must-start in fall fantasy formats, as he's hitting .315 (23-for-73) with five homers, 11 RBI and 11 runs in the early going in 2025. McKinstry has never faced Vasquez in his MLB career.

Kerry Carpenter Testing Hamstring On Monday
Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) was seen testing his hamstring on Monday. Carpenter was seen jogging in the outfield before Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. The outfielder was removed from Sunday's contest due to hamstring soreness. However, it appears this injury is minor as the 27-year-old is already back on the field. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status leading up to Monday's contest against the San Diego Padres. If Carpenter were to be held out of Monday's game, Zach McKinstry will likely get the nod in right field. Through 22 games this season, Carpenter has enjoyed a hot start to the campaign, holding a .315/.338/.562 slash line with five home runs and three doubles. If he is cleared to play, Carpenter is worth a look in DFS facing San Diego right-hander Randy Vasquez.
