Kerry Carpenter Not Playing The Field Yet On His Rehab Assignment
1 year agoDetroit Tigers outfielder/designated hitter Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) has played in seven games with Triple-A Toledo as he rehabs from a sprained right shoulder. However, the slugger has yet to play the field and will need to do so before he can return to action in the big leagues. Still, Carpenter began throwing to bases on Tuesday, and there's a chance the club will reinstate him from the injured list in mid-June. The Tigers will be excited to have the 25-year-old back in their lineup, as he was slashing .217/.280/.464 with four home runs, eight runs, and eight RBI across 20 contests and posted a .795 OPS over 31 games in 2022. Carpenter's fantasy value is a bit limited due to a career 28.7% strikeout rate, but he has 25-home run potential in his bat.
