Keone Kela Joins The Diamondbacks
3 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher Keone Kela agreed to a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the situation. Kela had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in May of last year, so he won't be ready to pitch until around midseason for the D-backs. The 28-year-old right-hander should have a legitimate shot to join Arizona's bullpen in the second half of the season, although he still may not be worth a look in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. Kela has been fighting through injuries in recent seasons and has made just 15 appearances in the last two years with a 4.97 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 12 2/3 innings.
