Keon Coleman continues to be an unreliable fantasy option ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie has progressed throughout his first season in the NFL, but he still remains an inferior option to
Khalil Shakir in the Bills' passing attack. Coleman has just two catches over his last two games, totaling a mere 10 yards. He typically operates as a deeper perimeter threat within Buffalo's offense, which has added another layer of uncertainty to his profile. For example, he was targeted 57 times during the regular season but hauled in just 29 of those passes, giving him a concerning 50.9 percent catch rate. In fact, he had five catches on 17 targets between Weeks 17 and 18. His increased volume in those games was promising, but targets don't generate fantasy points. Until Coleman can start catching more passes on a consistent basis, he's tough to trust in fantasy football. That point is accentuated this week against the Chiefs, who have been incredibly stingy against players like Coleman. Kansas City allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to receivers operating out wide from Week 12 through Week 17.

Josh Allen tends to spread the football around. Coleman has caught eight passes in the last five games, and just one for five yards in the Wild Card victory over the Denver Broncos. Still, the rookie may be the most dangerous downfield threat of the bunch. He is tied for the team lead for receptions longer than 25 yards (six) and trails
Mack Hollins in receiving touchdowns (four). Coleman is a boom-or-bust DFS option with a low output more likely.

Keon Coleman this week better hope his receptions are of the downfield variety. He's not catching many passes. The rookie has logged one, one, three, and two receptions in the four weeks since his return from a wrist injury. While one of those catches went for 64 yards and he scored on another, Coleman has been more of a miss than a hit. If he can avoid matchups with star Denver cornerback Pat Surtain II, he may have a downfield look or two. That's about all fantasy managers can hang their hat on if using the second-round pick in fantasy lineups.

Keon Coleman caught two of 10 targets for 31 yards in the team's 23-16 loss to the New England Patriots. He also rushed once for nine yards.
Amari Cooper (family matter),
Khalil Shakir, and
Dalton Kincaid did not play, leaving several opportunities for the rookie. Four of his 10 targets came on consecutive plays on Buffalo's final drive. His targets came from backup quarterbacks
Mitchell Trubisky and
Mike White.
Josh Allen played one snap only to extend his consecutive starts streak. Coleman will be an integral part of the Buffalo offense when the team hosts the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card round.
