Kenyon Green Must Earn A Role In 2024
8 months agoHouston Texans general manager Nick Caserio said that former first-rounder Kenyon Green (shoulder) is working back to full speed this offseason but will have to earn a starting role in 2024. "KG is a good kid. he'll have a full offseason, which he hasn't had. Nobody is guaranteed anything . Ultimately, it's going to come down to how he performs on the field," Caserio said. The Texans took Green 15th overall in 2022 out of Texas A&M. The 23-year-old offensive guard played in 15 games (14 starts) in his rookie campaign but didn't play at all in 2023 after hurting his shoulder in the preseason finale. He also missed the start of training camp in his first year and missed two games due to a knee injury in 2022. Before his injury last fall, Green was slated to serve as the team's starting left guard. He improved as a run blocker in his first year but struggled in pass protection.
