Kenyan Drake Not A Lock For 53-Man Roster
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts running back Kenyan Drake is not projected to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer James Boyd. Drake just signed with the Colts a few weeks ago so he had an uphill battle in regards to making the team. Indianapolis' backfield situation remains murky with Jonathan Taylor on the trade block and Zack Moss (wrist) out with an injury. Moss should be back early enough in the season to make an impact but it's anyone's guess if Taylor ends up being traded or placed on the PUP list. Deon Jackson should be the odds-on favorite to be the Colts' starting running back in Week 1 if Drake is cut and Taylor is unavailable. Evan Hull would likely factor into that backfield mix as well. Drake posted 571 total yards with five touchdowns as a member of the Ravens last season and would likely sign with another team if Indy decides to let him go.
