Kenta Maeda Throws Successful Bullpen Session
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (groin, arm) threw a successful bullpen session on Sunday. Maeda threw 35 pitches with no apparent setbacks and will be in line to start a rehab assignment soon, which will likely see him pitch at Triple-A St. Paul. The veteran righty hasn't pitched since May 22, as he suffered a groin strain followed by some arm soreness, an issue that has reportedly bothered him all season. Perhaps Maeda, who has struggled to the tune of a 5.27 ERA and 1.48 WHIP, will look more like the breakout pitcher of 2020 after some time on the sidelines to tinker with his mechanics.
