Kenta Maeda Bounces Back Against Rangers
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda rebounded nicely in Monday's outing against the Rangers. Maeda improved to 2-2, pitching 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing a pair of hits while striking out eight batters compared to two walks. The veteran right-hander had his slider working much better, generating six of his 13 swinging strikes on the offering. Maeda's eight punchouts were a season-high- and it was nice to see him keep a zero on the scoreboard after surrendering 12 earned runs in his last two starts combined. He'll get another excellent matchup on May 8 against the Tigers, who have posted the worst strikeout rate in the majors this season.
