Kenneth Gainwell Not A Starting Option Just Yet
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles rookie running back Kenneth Gainwell was surprisingly involved more than expected in Week 1 and should continue to carve out a role in the Philly backfield in Week 2. In his first NFL game, Gainwell saw 11 touches and scored a touchdown. While he clearly worked behind starter Miles Sanders, he also banished Boston Scott to a special teams-only role. Gainwell has clearly taken over the second spot on the running back depth chart and would be a startable fantasy asset immediately if Sanders were forced to miss time. For now, he's an upside stash that can work his way into FLEX consideration in deeper PPR leagues.
