1 year agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Kenley Jansen (hamstring) is not expected to be available during the weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran reliever experienced right hamstring tightness during a relief appearance on Wednesday. Red Sox manager said on Friday that the plan is to stay away from using Jansen for a few days. The good news is that the veteran closer was able to throw long-toss on Friday. He's expected to sit out the weekend series, but Jansen shouldn't require a trip to the injured list. In the meantime, Chris Martin and Josh Winckowski are the favorites to close out games in Boston.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
