Kenley Jansen Expected To Close To Start 2021
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers reliever Kenley Jansen is expected to serve as the team's closer to start the 2021 season, according to manager Dave Roberts. Jansen struggled during the 2020 postseason and recorded an ERA over 3.00 in the regular season for the third straight year. The 33-year-old is no longer the dominant ninth-inning option he once was, and his 140.7 ADP reflects that. Nevertheless, the Dodgers will probably be one of the best teams in baseball again in 2021, so whoever holds down the closer's role will have significant value. If Jansen falters, Blake Treinen and Brusdar Graterol would be the likeliest options to supplant him.
