Kenley Jansen Ends Regular Season With Shaky Performance
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen ended his up-and-down season with a lackluster performance in Monday's 5-2 win over the Rockies. Jansen came on to pitch the ninth inning up by five and allowed two runs on two solo home runs and no walks with two strikeouts. Jansen struggled mightily at times this season and battled an irregular heartbeat, finishing things out with 38 saves out of 42 opportunities, a 3.01 ERA, 10.30 K/9 rate, and 2.13 BB/9 rate. While the 38 saves were good for fourth-most in the Majors, Jansen posted the highest ERA and lowest strikeout rate of his career. Age and medical issues may have gotten to Jansen this season, and it will be interesting to see how he is valued in fantasy leagues next season.
